ITL Biometric-enabled Currency Exchange Kiosks Spread Across Europe,

Automated currency exchange kiosks using facial recognition technology have been deployed across Europe. Developed by Innovative Technology and Swiss manufacturer Ecex Group, the kiosks use ITL’s ICU Pro device to capture users’ biometrics and comply with daily transaction limits. Biometric data is stored locally and encrypted. The kiosks have been deployed to four locations including Geneva Airport in Switzerland, Billund Airport in Denmark, and the Hilton and Opera Hotel in Kyiv, Ukraine. The system has been designed to meet the anti-money laundering rules of the host country. ITL’s biometric technology also has applications in gaming, helping to limit and protect customers from excessive spending, according to Andrew O’Brien, ITL Biometrics Product Manager.
