Miller County Commission to explore “support solution” for possible casino – News/Talk KRMS

A resolution supporting the local group trying to bring casino gambling to Lake of the Ozarks will be the main topic of discussion during Monday’s Miller County Commission meeting.

Presiding Commissioner Kevin Cardwell says the commission has documents from Osage River Gaming and Convention LLC outlining their plans to build a casino and related facilities on property on the east side of Highway-54 near the Osage River .

The casino group has begun trying to get an initiative petition on the November 2024 ballot aimed at adding a 14Th License in the state with the condition that it would allow construction of a casino along the Osage River.

The commission also says they have not been approached by any representative of the Osage Nation Gaming group about support for their proposed project, which would conflict with the Jefferson City commission’s stance of not supporting non-tax-based businesses.

The Miller County Commission meeting begins Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.
