We are ready to take this game to the next level and we need passion to do it Senior Accounting Analyst Responsible for day-to-day accounting, month-end and year-end activities and providing expertise in all corporate accounting functions for OLG (areas including: Corporate Revenue Reporting, Gaming, iGaming, cGaming, Lottery, Sports and Shared). YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

If you report to the Senior Accounting Manager, you have the authority to:

  • Lead role in the month-end and year-end closing process to ensure all activities are completed correctly and on time as required by the OLG. Analyze the root cause of discrepancies in financial statements and use professional judgment to determine the need for discrepancy declaration or escalation as necessary to comply with OLG policies and procedures.

  • Perform the preparation of monthly OLG financial statements while ensuring the integrity of financial reporting systems, information and internal controls.

  • Prepare, review and analyze financial data for automated entry into the company’s general ledger and ensure IFRS compliance for areas including: Corporate Revenue Reporting, Gaming, iGaming, cGaming,

  • Lotteries, sports and shared services. This includes reviewing and monitoring the accounting assistant’s tasks to ensure information is accurate before entering it into the general ledger.

  • Assist in the development of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the accuracy of entries into the Company’s general ledger; Ensure adherence to sound internal control principles, including the Treasury Department’s Internal Control Framework and Memorandum of Understanding and other applicable Department policies

  • Responsible for preparing/reviewing accurate and timely work papers and financial reports to enable the audit of the financial year, working with the Senior Manager Accounting to ensure all deliverables are met.

  • Responsible for working with external auditors throughout the audit process to ensure auditor requests/requests are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for preparing/reviewing the calculation of service provider fees (more than $2 billion per year), including allowable capital charges and related financial reconciliations, to ensure service provider compliance with contractual obligations; Escalate any issue to Senior Manager Accounting as necessary. This role has an understanding of service provider contracts and their interpretation.

  • Responsible for preparing/reviewing calculations of various corporate external stakeholder obligations such as municipal commissions, profit contributions, charitable payments, resort casino contractual obligations and quarterly hospitality reporting (approximately 500 million stakeholders in total)

  • Responsible for accounting for OLG capital assets, including 1) asset recognition/disposals in accordance with IFRS and OLG guidelines; 2) Preparation of various capital asset reports as required and 3) Annual review of the useful life of OLG capital assets

  • Participate as a subject matter expert in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives by assisting in the development of business requirements, conducting user acceptance testing and providing subject matter expertise

  • Perform analysis and month-end reconciliation of key account balances to ensure completeness and accuracy. This includes reviewing and monitoring accounting analyst reconciliations to ensure they are approved on time, accurate, and identified issues are resolved and followed up with internal stakeholders

  • Participate and assist in the development of new processes or modification of existing processes, including ILC as these relate to the addition of new products to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • (Lottery only) Prepare daily calculation of prize money transfers to and from the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation for numerous national lottery games (approximately $1 billion per year) in accordance with ILC policies and procedures

  • Prepare and analyze the compilation and summary of sensitive payment information in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders, particularly Freedom of Information requests and/or Treasury Department requests

  • Review accurate daily sales reporting and ensure key financial components are consistent with source systems, including daily sales reconciliations for all reporting functions. Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of receipts.

  • Leading role in accounts receivable billing to third parties, such as: B. Service provider; This also includes collecting claims within a reasonable time frame


WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work experience: 3-5 years advanced accounting/auditing experience in a medium/large company, experience with IFRS preferred.

Education: University degree in finance, accounting or business administration, professional title accounting, CPA,
